nothing is known about his pre-war service, he transferred from the 4th Company of Panzerersatzabteilung 1 to the 5th Company of Panzerregiment 1 as an Oberschütze on 29.05.1940 and took part in the second part of the French Campaign,
transferred on 26.07.1940 to the 7th Company, where he remained until the end of the war,
returned to his hometown and worked in agriculture,
made a name for himself as a lyricist and local poet.
