transferred in August 1940 to the 3rd Company of Panzerabteilung A and shortly thereafter, to the 3rd Company of Panzerregiment 18,
transferred in January 1941 to the regimental staff of Panzerregiment 18,
served in 1942/1943 as a Kompaniefeldwebel (Spieß),
is listed as Oberfeldwebel in the ranks of I. Abteilung of Panzerregiment 26 in 1944,
Heinrich Funke survived WWII and settled after several years of Soviet captivity in Erfurt (East Germany)
